Fruits and French Salads

There are different types of salads but the most common type is the vegetable salads. However, salads are versatile you can always make them to suit your needs. If you have no idea what is in a salad, here are some of the most common ingredients:
A. Fruits: Some people like the French, cannot imagine a salad without the addition of fruits. French salad recipes usually contain one or two fruits. Examples of these fruits are pear, apple or melon. Moreover, you can always add apples, pineapples, grapes and other fruit types if you want to.
B. Vegetables: It is hard to imagine a salad without vegetables. Vegetable salads are the most common and post popular type of salad. Everyone loves vegetable salads. Examples of vegetables found in salads are potatoes, tomatoes, red cabbage, and green leafy vegetables. These vegetables can be either raw or grilled, depending on your preference.
C. You can also add meat and seafood to your salad along with fruits and vegetables. Grilling meat and seafood before adding them to the salad recipe is typical.
D. Of course, a French salad is incomplete without a salad dressing. A salad dressing can include citrus dressings and vinaigrettes and raspberries or strawberries with balsamic vinegar. The French salad is a combination of flavour and texture. The addition to fruits in the salad itself adds a twist to the typical salad flavour.

To create this salad you will need the following: 16 romaine lettuce leaves, 12 oz salmon fillet, 4 hardboiled eggs, 16 black olives, 1 zucchini, 3/4 lb green beans, 8 jumbo shrimp, 8 sea scallops, 1 tablespoon capers, 4 Roma tomatoes, 1 yellow bell pepper, 1/3 cup plus 2 tablespoons French vinaigrette, 8 leaves chopped fresh basil (optional). The combination of all these ingredients will result to the delectable Salad Nicoise with Seafood.
